At about 11:30 am on March 12, a fire suddenly broke out at the garbage and scrap yard of Ms. Ha Thi Thang's family (born in 1960, residing in Kien Kien village, Thuan Bac commune, Khanh Hoa province).
According to initial information, the combustible material was mainly domestic waste and scrap from old tires, so the fire quickly flared up strongly. Dense black smoke rising tens of meters high, spreading to the surrounding area, causing smoke and dust and affecting visibility in the area.
Immediately after receiving the news, the forces of the Fire and Rescue Police Department of Khanh Hoa Provincial Police mobilized officers and soldiers of Fire and Rescue Team Area 8 to quickly arrive at the scene.
At the scene, functional forces coordinated with local people to deploy many specialized fire fighting vehicles, urgently controlled the fire and prevented it from spreading to the surrounding area.
The fire occurred in the area of the waste and scrap yard that has been sorted, located on an empty land area of about 200m2.
After nearly an hour of firefighting efforts, at about 12:30 pm on the same day, functional forces completely extinguished the fire, preventing the fire from spreading.
According to the commander of Fire and Rescue Team Area 8, the fire did not cause any casualties, and part of the garbage and scrap was burned down on the spot.
Currently, the cause of the fire is being further investigated and clarified by functional forces.
