According to the leader of the People's Committee of Lac Dao commune, Hung Yen province, on the evening of January 9, the specialized woodworking workshop for pallets located opposite Lac Dao station, on the road towards Bac Ninh province, suddenly caught fire fiercely. Because the workshop contained many flammable materials, the fire quickly spread, accompanied by a column of black smoke rising high, which could be observed from afar.
Immediately after receiving the news, functional forces mobilized dozens of fire trucks and many officers and soldiers to quickly arrive at the scene to deploy fire fighting plans, cordon off areas, and prevent the fire from spreading to neighboring areas. The fire area concentrated many wood processing and plastic recycling factories, surrounded by large piles of wood and nylon, causing many difficulties for firefighting.

During the firefighting process, functional forces coordinated with local authorities to organize traffic diversion, ensuring safety for people living near the fire area. Some factories at the scene were recorded to have collapsed due to the direct impact of the fire and high temperature.
According to initial information, the fire did not cause any casualties. However, the factory area, hundreds of square meters wide, along with many machinery, materials, and belongings inside, was completely burned down by the fire. Late that night, the fire was basically controlled, and functional forces continued to spray cooling water to prevent the risk of fire re-ignition.
Currently, the cause of the fire as well as specific damage are being further investigated, statistically analyzed and clarified by functional agencies according to regulations.
