On the afternoon of June 6, Hai Phong City Police said: At 9:54 am on June 6, Command Information Center 114 under the Fire Prevention and Fighting and Rescue Police Department (Hai Phong City Police) received a report of a fire at a wood workshop belonging to Hieu Luyen Co., Ltd., located at No. 290 Pham Van Dong Street (Km No. 3), Ninh Hai Residential Group, Hung Dao Ward, Hai Phong.
Immediately upon receiving the information, the Fire and Rescue Police Department immediately dispatched the Fire and Rescue Team of Area 6 to dispatch 2 fire trucks and 12 officers and soldiers to the scene. At the same time, 1 fire truck of Team Area 1, Hung Dao Ward Police and grassroots Fire and Rescue forces were also mobilized to coordinate to approach the scene to organize rescue.
Initial preliminary information, the fire area is located in the mezzanine inside the company's 1-story factory, which is a place to store scrap wood, the fire area is about 10m2.
Thanks to the rapid and effective coordination of forces, by about 10:30 am on the same day, the fire was completely extinguished, completely preventing the risk of fire spreading to the surrounding areas of the wood workshop. Fortunately, the fire did not cause any casualties; in terms of property, only some scrap wood was burned down and about 4m2 of old corrugated iron roof was damaged (estimated damage is negligible).
The City Police recommends: Wood production and processing facilities always have a very high risk of fire and explosion due to containing large volumes of flammable substances (wood, sawdust, paint solvents... ), to ensure safety, businesses need to:
Strictly manage fire sources and heat sources (absolutely do not smoke, burn incense for worship or use open flames in production areas, warehouses for finished products and scrap); Regularly inspect and maintain the electrical system; electrical equipment must be driven in protective gene tubes and install automatic switches (Aptomats) for each area; Arrange goods scientifically (do not leave large quantities of raw materials and wood scrap accumulated at escape routes and mezzanines; create a safe distance to prevent fire from spreading between workshops); Maintain the effective operation of grassroots fire prevention and fighting forces; regularly inspect and maintain on-site fire fighting equipment and vehicles to be ready to handle them right from the time a fire occurs.
