On the afternoon of May 25, Ninh Chau Commune People's Committee, Quang Tri province said that a coastal protection forest fire had just occurred in the area, causing dozens of hectares of forest to be burned down.
According to initial information, the fire occurred on the evening of May 24 in Tan Dinh village, Ninh Chau commune, Quang Tri province. After detecting the fire, functional forces quickly deployed control measures.
However, by the morning of May 25, due to intense hot weather combined with strong foehn winds, the fire broke out again and spread.
Upon receiving the news, Ninh Chau Commune People's Committee, Quang Ninh Commune, Dong Hoi Protection Forest Management Board and coastal areas of Quang Binh province mobilized hundreds of people along with the Police, Military, Forest Protection, Border Guard, militia and self-defense forces and fire prevention and fighting forces to participate in extinguishing the fire.

Due to high temperatures, strong winds and thick dry vegetation, especially dry vegetation on the sand, the fire broke out quickly and caused many difficulties for firefighting.
By about 6 pm on the same day, the fire was basically under control. However, the risk of fire breaking out again still exists, so functional forces continue to be on duty to promptly handle it.
Currently, the cause of the fire is being investigated and clarified by functional agencies. The forest owner's unit is also statistically assessing the damage caused by the fire.
