According to initial information, at around 3:00 p.m. on February 13, many people inside the premises of a facility with a kindergarten class on Tran Cao Van Street (corner of Hai Ba Trung Street), Vo Thi Sau Ward, District 3 smelled a burning smell accompanied by a column of smoke rising high. People shouted and used mini fire extinguishers to put out the fire but were unsuccessful.

Immediately after receiving the news, the Fire Prevention and Rescue Police Team of District 3 Police dispatched fire trucks and many soldiers to the scene to rescue and put out the fire. The police also blocked off a section of Tran Cao Van Street to assist in the firefighting effort.
