According to initial information, the fire occurred at about 4 pm on June 2, at a foam production workshop on Huong Lo 2 street, Binh Tri Dong ward, Ho Chi Minh City. Because inside there was a large amount of raw materials and finished foam, the fire quickly spread to other areas of the workshop.

Discovering the incident, working workers immediately shouted and mobilized fire extinguishers to control the fire. However, the fire broke out too strongly, making it impossible for on-site forces to approach. Fearing the risk of fire spreading and smoke poisoning, many households living around urgently evacuated their houses to ensure safety.
Upon receiving the news, the Fire and Rescue Police Department of Ho Chi Minh City quickly dispatched 3 professional units with more than 10 specialized vehicles and dozens of officers and soldiers to the scene. Reconnaissance teams equipped with gas masks and specialized equipment immediately went deep inside to search for victims.

At the same time, firefighters simultaneously deployed fire hoses from many directions to isolate the fire and prevent it from spreading to people's houses. By about 5:20 pm, the fire was basically extinguished. Rescue forces continued to carefully search the entire scene area to prevent people from being trapped.
Currently, the cause of the fire and the extent of property damage are being statistically clarified by functional agencies.
