On the afternoon of June 2nd, information from Hai An Border Guard Station (Quang Tri Provincial Border Guard) confirmed that the unit had just coordinated with forest rangers, police, military and local authorities to control and successfully extinguish a large forest fire that occurred in Dong Tan An village (My Thuy commune).
Previously, at 1:38 PM on the same day, a fire suddenly broke out in the planted forest area of Dong Tan An village with a fire area of about 3.15ha. It is known that the entire forest land area where the fire occurred is managed by My Thuy Commune People's Committee, the current status is land where people are cultivating acacia trees.
Immediately after receiving the information, Hai An Border Guard Station immediately mobilized 15 officers and soldiers to urgently mobilize to the scene. Here, the border guard force coordinated with 67 people from other functional forces and local people to actively deploy measures to create firebreaks and zone firefighting.
Due to intense hot weather and strong winds, firefighting work faced many difficulties. By 3:30 pm on the same day, the fire was completely extinguished.
Notably, this is not the only fire in recent days in this locality. Previously, on June 1, Hai An Border Guard Station also had to mobilize officers and soldiers to coordinate with local authorities and functional forces to participate in continuously fighting forest fires in Thuan Dau and Tham Khe villages (My Thuy commune).
Currently, functional agencies are investigating and clarifying the causes as well as statistics on the extent of damage from the above-mentioned consecutive forest fires.
