On May 23, information from the People's Committee of Luong Trung commune, Ba Thuoc district, Thanh Hoa province said that a boat carrying students on the way to school had just overturned in the area. Fortunately, the incident did not cause any human casualties.

According to the representative of Luong Trung Commune People's Committee, the incident occurred at about 7 am on the same day, when the iron boat carried more than 10 students from the Constitution village (isolated across the Ma River) to the center of the commune to go to school.
"When the boat was approaching the shore, students jostled to shore, causing the boat to lose balance and overturn. Fortunately, all students and boat drivers were safe afterwards" - a representative of the People's Committee of Luong Trung commune informed.
It is known that Com Mot village has 136 households with 616 people, of which about 60 students often have to take a boat to the commune center to study.
To meet the travel needs of the people, the local government has built an iron boat and arranged a driver to pick up and drop off people across the river every day. The overturned iron ferry has been in use since the beginning of 2024.
