On April 25, the Dak Lak Provincial People's Council held the 18th thematic session, term X, 2021 - 2026.
Mr. Bach Van Manh - Director of the Department of Home Affairs of Dak Lak province read the submission and draft resolution approving the policy of arranging commune-level administrative units of Dak Lak province.
Dak Lak province currently has 180 commune-level administrative units. After the arrangement, the province will have 68 new administrative units (including 7 wards and 61 communes), a reduction of 112 units (equivalent to 62.22%).
Buon Ma Thuot urban area alone has 5 wards including Buon Ma Thuot, Tan An, Tan Lap, Thanh Nhat, Ea Kao and Hoa Phu commune.
As a result, 100% of the delegates attending the meeting voted and unanimously approved the draft resolution on the policy of arranging commune-level administrative units in Dak Lak province.
The Dak Lak Provincial People's Council assigned the Provincial People's Committee to direct, complete the dossier, submit to competent authorities for consideration and decision on the arrangement of commune-level administrative units and report to the Provincial People's Council on the implementation results.
The delegates also voted to approve the policy of merging Dak Lak and Phu Yen provinces. The name after the merger is Dak Lak province. The administrative - political center is located in the current Dak Lak province.
