On the morning of December 5, the People's Committee of Can Tho City (UBND) held a regular meeting in November 2025.
According to the report of the Can Tho Department of Finance, the public investment capital plan for 2025 assigned by the Prime Minister is VND 28,958,933 million, the disbursement result by November 27, 2025 of Can Tho City is VND 11,965,581 million, reaching 41.32% of the plan assigned by the Prime Minister, reaching 39.15% of the plan assigned by the City People's Council (11,965,581/30,561,300 million VND), reaching 40.41% of the detailed capital plan assigned.

According to the assessment, in November and 11 months of 2025, Can Tho City's economy will continue to grow, businesses will strive to maintain production and business activities and achieve many positive results in all fields.
Accordingly, industrial production recovered, the industrial production index in the first 11 months of 2025 is estimated to increase by 10% over the same period in 2024; total retail sales of goods and service revenue is estimated to increase by 16.5%; tourism revenue increased by 20%; newly registered enterprises are estimated to increase by 53.97%...
According to the People's Committee of Can Tho City, one of the key tasks in December is to speed up the disbursement of public investment capital along with ensuring construction quality, occupational safety and hygiene, fighting corruption, negativity, loss and waste.

Speaking at the meeting, Chairman of Can Tho City People's Committee Truong Canh Tuyen acknowledged that up to now, the coordination work in departments, branches, sectors and units has initially improved. The two-level government apparatus is operated stably.
Regarding disbursement, departments and branches must soon meet to agree on a plan, especially on the orientation of site clearance.
According to the Chairman of the People's Committee of Can Tho City, after the merger, 4.2 million people have great hope and expectation for the city's apparatus, while some officials still lack a sense of responsibility, dare not to do, dare not to accept, dare not to propose or solve problems that are still slow.
Mr. Tuyen suggested that the above problem must be overcome and how to inspire the staff. In December, in addition to regular tasks, leaders of departments, branches, sectors and units need to review their sectoral indicators, focus on leadership, direction and management more drastically.
