On December 4, Vice Chairman of Can Tho City People's Committee Nguyen Van Hoa signed a decision approving the task and budget for adjusting the planning in the area related to the implementation of Can Tho City Administrative Area in Tay Do Cultural Center.
According to the decision, the Can Tho City Traffic and Agricultural Construction Investment Project Management Board is the unit assigned to organize the implementation of planning tasks, including: Providing local adjustments to the Can Tho City Master Plan, by 2030, with a vision to 2050. Local adjustment of the 1/5,000 scale zoning plan of Cai Rang district to 2030, vision to 2050, and overall adjustment of the detailed plan of 1/500 scale of Tay Do Cultural Center. The total implementation cost is more than 1.53 billion VND.
The City People's Committee requires the Project Management Board to be responsible for the content, legal basis and accuracy of the proposed data during the planning adjustment process.
Previously, the Standing Committee of the Can Tho City Party Committee agreed on the plan to build a concentrated Administrative Center with a total estimated investment of VND2,500 billion. The location of the Tay Do Cultural Center project is in Hung Phu ward.
On April 28, 2023, the People's Committee of Can Tho City (old) issued a decision approving the project to adjust the 1/500 scale planning of Tay Do Cultural Center with a total area of 69.37 hectares, of which the area of the administrative area is 10.87 hectares, the rest is the cultural center and commercial service exploitation.
According to the proposed adjustment, the land area for the Administrative Area will increase from 10.87 hectares to 20 hectares, expected to be arranged with offices for working agencies of the Party bloc, state administration, socio-political organizations... The remaining area will be about 49 hectares as a cultural, commercial and service center.
