On December 1, in Ha Tien ward, An Giang Provincial Police had a working session with the Police of 5 border provinces of Cambodia to discuss contents related to organizing a conference to summarize the implementation of the 2025 cooperation document on security protection and border maintenance between An Giang Provincial Police and the Police of 5 provinces ( Kam Pot, Kep, Preah Sihanouk, Takeo, Kandal - Kingdom of Cambodia).
At the same time, they exchanged some information, security and border order situation in the last 6 months of 2025 and agreed on some coordination work in the first 6 months of 2026. Taking advantage of and mobilizing the leaders of the police of the 5 Cambodian border provinces in coordinating the work of ensuring security and order at the border.
In a frank, friendly and responsible atmosphere, representatives of the two sides focused on discussing and agreeing on the time and location of the summary conference; reviewing the results achieved in coordinating the protection of security and order along the border in recent times. At the same time, it identified key tasks that need to be prioritized in the coming time. Many important issues were discussed in depth, especially the work of preventing and combating cross-border crimes; fighting against illegal drug smuggling and transportation activities; ensuring the safety of adjacent border sections; as well as promoting trade, creating favorable conditions for people of the two countries to cross and do business stably.

Speaking at the meeting, Colonel Dao Hai Dang - Deputy Director of An Giang Provincial Police - respectfully thanked the close, timely and responsible cooperation of the police forces of the 5 Cambodian provinces in the past time. He affirmed that it is the trust and mutual support between the police forces of both sides that have contributed significantly to maintaining stable security and order on the border, effectively limiting and preventing many types of complicated crimes.
Colonel Dao Hai Dang emphasized that in the context of the regional and world security situation continuing to have many unpredictable developments, the coordination between the police forces of the two countries needs to continue to be strengthened. He suggested that the two sides regularly exchange and share information to serve the work of grasping the situation; improve the effectiveness of measures to prevent and combat cross-border crimes, especially smuggling, drugs, human trafficking and other illegal activities.

In addition, Colonel Dao Hai Dang also requested the police forces of the 5 Cambodian provinces to continue to pay attention and support in border management, coordinating to promptly resolve arising cases. Actively mobilize local governments, functional forces and people of the two countries to participate in building a border of peace, friendship and development cooperation. He affirmed the determination of the An Giang Provincial Police in particular and the Police of the border provinces of Vietnam in general in maintaining a secure environment, creating a favorable foundation for trade, tourism and economic cooperation between the two countries. Thereby continuing to foster traditional neighborly relations, solidarity and long-term attachment between Vietnam and Cambodia.
