On January 20, Can Tho City Police said that, thoroughly grasping the Ministry of Public Security's policy on promoting digital transformation in the People's Police force, in the past time, the unit has proactively and synchronously implemented many solutions applying science and technology to the work of archives and ID cards, thereby achieving many important results, contributing to improving the efficiency of state management of security, order and serving the People.
According to Can Tho City Police, the Identity Card Envelope Team of the Department of Administrative Management of Social Order Police has focused on electronically digitizing 9-digit Identity Card (CMND) envelope, converting the status from manual lookup method to information technology application.
Digitalization has significantly shortened the time for searching and verifying information, promptly meeting professional work requirements and resolving administrative procedures.
In 2025, the unit conducted a lookup of more than 5,200 cases, effectively serving the investigation, verification, confirmation of ID card information and providing data to agencies, organizations, and individuals according to regulations.
One of the outstanding results is the digitization of more than 7.4 million paper dossiers in the 9-digit ID card library into electronic data; deploying software to manage and exploit dossiers; and focusing on verifying and processing cases of suspected ID card number duplication, identity duplication, and biometrics to synchronize with the ID card database system, ensuring accurate, unified citizen information, and centralized storage.
Promoting the spirit of responsibility and high determination, Can Tho City Police have arranged forces, vehicles, and equipment to complete all targets assigned by the Department of Administrative Management of Social Order 6 months earlier than the set schedule.
Can Tho City Police also informed that in the coming time, the unit will continue to focus on fostering digital skills for officers and soldiers, gradually mastering modern technology, ensuring "correct, sufficient, clean, lively, unified" data. This is an important foundation to deploy digital citizen utilities, serving people more and more quickly and conveniently, contributing to building a clean, strong, regular, elite, and modern Can Tho City Police force in the digital age.
