Hai Phong - Leaders of Phu Lien ward have just inspected the work of overcoming the consequences of landslides of soil and rock in the Cot Co mountain area, the entrance to Hai Phong Lung Hospital area.

Information from Phu Lien ward, due to the impact of storm No. 4, heavy rain in recent days has caused landslides of soil and rocks and localized flooding in some areas in Phu Lien ward. At about 8 pm on August 23, in the area of Cot Co mountain, alley 454 Tran Tat Van street (entrance to Hai Phong Lung Hospital area, next to Brigade Information 603 clinic), a landslide of soil and rocks occurred with an estimated volume of about 320 m3. The landslide point is about 20 m from the nearest house.

Immediately after the incident occurred, the Ward People's Committee directed forces to inspect the current situation, monitor the developments of the landslide area, organize warnings and handle soil and rocks sliding down the alley surface, ensuring traffic and travel safety. At the same time, the ward reviewed households and works in the area that may be affected to proactively plan protection, relocate people and property when necessary.

Heavy rain also caused localized flooding in some low-lying areas, affecting about 5 sao of rice in Goc Khe field, Dong Tu residential group and some vegetable areas in the area. Forces are continuing to inspect and proactively drain water to limit the impact on production and people's lives.

Faced with complicated weather developments, Phu Lien ward continues to strictly maintain the duty and command duty regime; focusing on monitoring the landslide area of Cot Co mountain, areas at risk of waterlogging and landslides. At the same time, proactively clear canals, ditches, drainage culverts, handle bottlenecks, closely monitor rice and aquaculture areas, and be ready with forces, vehicles, and supplies to respond and overcome consequences according to the "four on-site" motto.
