According to the Ministry of Public Security, the construction and completion of the DNA database of martyr's relatives is a key and breakthrough task, aimed at serving comparison with the National Population Database, thereby gradually identifying martyrs' remains that lack information.

In Lam Dong, the review work showed that the whole province has identified 6,244 martyrs with grave information, but there are still 3,422 martyrs whose graves have not been identified and 238 cases that have information but no remains remain.

From June 25, 2026 to December 31, 2026, Lam Dong Provincial Police will deploy a peak period of collecting DNA biological samples throughout the province, striving to achieve 100% of eligible relatives according to updated data.

Sample collection work is organized flexibly: focusing at collection points for people with travel conditions; and arranging mobile collection forces at home or transportation vehicles for elderly, sick, and difficult-to-move relatives.

Along with that, commune-level police in the area are strengthening closeness to grassroots levels, coordinating with departments, branches, and unions to implement the motto "going to each alley, knocking on each house", reviewing, verifying and updating data on relatives of martyrs into the national population system.

This is an activity with profound humanistic meaning, contributing to searching for and identifying the remains of martyrs, expressing gratitude to those who sacrificed for the Fatherland, and at the same time expressing the nation's "When drinking water, remember the source" morality.
