On the afternoon of October 24, the Traffic Police Department, Lao Cai Provincial Police held a conference to disseminate and disseminate laws and sign a commitment to comply with regulations on safety and order of inland waterway traffic in 2025 for nearly 100 enterprises, establishments, organizations and individuals operating mineral transportation and exploitation on the province's waterways.
Speaking at the conference, Lieutenant Colonel Le Toan Thang, Deputy Head of the Traffic Police Department of Lao Cai Provincial Police, emphasized that the conference aimed to help businesses, vehicle owners, vehicle operators and people grasp legal regulations; raise awareness of compliance, form a cultural lifestyle when participating in waterway traffic. Thereby, contributing to minimizing traffic accidents and incidents on rivers.
At the conference, delegates listened to officers of Waterway Traffic Police Team No. 2 disseminate legal regulations on waterway traffic, exchange experiences in managing and operating vehicles; and at the same time sign a commitment to strictly implement regulations on waterway traffic safety and order.
Mr. Ha Huy Ninh, owner of a passenger transport vehicle at Thac Ba Lake, shared that the conference helped him raise his awareness, responsibility and comply with the provisions of the law to protect his life, property, family and passengers.
In recent times, the Waterway Traffic Police Team No. 2 has strengthened coordination with grassroots authorities, to each household, each line and area assigned to management to propagate, mobilize, build good mass mobilization models and help people better grasp the provisions of the law on the management and use of weapons, explosives, and support tools.
Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Tien Trung, Captain of Waterway Traffic Police Team No. 2, Traffic Police Department of Lao Cai Provincial Police, said that up to now, the Team has organized dozens of propaganda sessions and 20 individuals have voluntarily handed over 20 homemade guns and various rudimentary weapons.
At the propaganda conference, Waterway Police Team No. 2 commended the 3 citizens living in the Thac Ba Lake area for proactively coordinating with the Working Groups to proactively hand over 3 homemade guns of the family. Thereby, contributing to ensuring security and order in the area. Waterway Police Team No. 2 presented 9 life jackets to 3 people who handed over guns.
On this occasion, the Traffic Police Department of Lao Cai Province Police presented 20 life jackets to people living along Thac Ba Lake to support and encourage people to ensure safety when operating on the river; distributed life jackets to 5 businesses, companies, and cooperatives fishing on Thac Ba Lake to regularly coordinate with the Waterway Traffic Police Team No. 2 in flood prevention and rescue during floods.
