Police invite many people to work to spread fake news of dam failure in Khanh Hoa

Hữu Long |

Khanh Hoa Provincial Police have worked with many people who posted and shared false information on social networks.

On the afternoon of November 21, according to the police, contents such as " Am Chua dam collapse", "Suoi Dau dam collapse", or "urgent request for people in Cho Ga area, Vinh Thanh commune to evacuate immediately because tonight the water level of the 3.5m dam is released..." are all fabricated information, causing confusion and panic among the public.

This information seriously affects natural disaster prevention work, as well as the activities of forces responding to and overcoming the consequences of floods.

Khanh Hoa Provincial Police recommends that people in downstream areas and flood-affected areas should be vigilant, disbelieve and not share sensational and unverified information.

People need to monitor and update from official sources of state agencies to proactively ensure the safety of life, health and property.

Cases of posting and spreading false information must be removed and corrected immediately.
