Quang Binh Police support nearly 1.2 billion to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses for people

CÔNG SÁNG |

Quang Binh - Quang Binh Police supported nearly 1.2 billion VND to help 213 poor households in Tuyen Hoa eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses and improve their lives.

Spreading community responsibility

As of mid-May 2025, the entire Tuyen Hoa district (Quang Binh province) has 213 households eligible for support, of which 157 households have built new houses and 56 households have repaired them. To date, all 213 houses have been started, of which 173 houses have been completed and 40 houses are in the process of completion.

Previously, on March 12, 2025, the Provincial Police presented the Steering Committee for Eliminating Temporary and Dilapidated Houses in Tuyen Hoa District with 500 million VND and 150 tons of cement. In addition, households whose houses are inaugurated will be given additional fans, refrigerators, mattresses, gas stoves and cash. In particular, more than 972 working days were directly contributed by police officers and soldiers, making an important contribution to the construction process.

Senior Lieutenant Trinh Van Quan - Deputy Head of the Youth Union of Quang Binh Provincial Police shared: "Each brick and bag of cement given is a promise that the police force will always accompany the people, especially in the most difficult times".

With support from the Provincial Police, the Youth Union also mobilized more from benefactors, contributing to helping disadvantaged households complete solid houses. We want houses to not only be places to shelter from the rain and sun, but also be able to withstand natural disasters, especially flash floods in mountainous areas, Senior Lieutenant Trinh Van Quan emphasized.

Removing obstacles to speed up progress

In reality, some houses built with the plan of pouring concrete roofs or having floating attics need more time to meet the hardness standards, somewhat affecting the overall progress.

In addition, some households still have problems with documents related to land use rights, causing many obstacles in starting construction. Faced with this situation, the Steering Committee of Quang Binh Provincial Police has closely coordinated with the Steering Committee of Tuyen Hoa District Police to direct the Commune Police to review, make a list, and mobilize the People to support in removing legal obstacles, completing land procedures, and speeding up construction progress.

Notably, Quang Binh Provincial Police have launched 2 rounds of donations of 1 day's salary for the entire force, raising funds to support the demolition of temporary and dilapidated houses.

The total value of support packages from Quang Binh Provincial Police as of early May 2025 has reached nearly 1.2 billion VND, including cash, materials, gifts and construction human resources. The projects are also closely monitored and supervised to ensure quality and completion on schedule.

Tuyen Hoa district is a locality that is often affected by floods and landslides, so solid houses are a vital factor that helps people stabilize their lives. Many households do not have enough economic conditions, have broken land, and complex terrain, making construction implementation difficult.

However, thanks to the cooperation of the police force and local authorities, the difficulties have gradually been resolved. The elimination of temporary and dilapidated houses is not simply to build houses, but to create a support for social security, a vivid image of a police force "serving the people".
