At the regular press conference on socio-economics in Ho Chi Minh City on the afternoon of February 5, Lieutenant Colonel Tran Xuan Phuong - Deputy Head of the Fire and Rescue Police Department (PC07) - Ho Chi Minh City Police informed about the fire that occurred in an alley on To Ky street, killing 3 people.
According to Lieutenant Colonel Phuong, at 0:53 on February 5, the Fire and Rescue Police Force (PC07) of Ho Chi Minh City Police received a fire report at a house in alley 17, To Ky street, Dong Hung Thuan ward.
The burned house has a brick wall structure, corrugated iron roof, located deep in an alley, about 140 m from the front of To Ky street, fire trucks cannot access it directly. Surrounding it are adjacent houses.
Immediately after receiving the news, PC07 force mobilized officers, soldiers and specialized vehicles to the scene.

By 1:01 am, functional forces approached the fire area, controlled the fire in 1:03 am, and completely extinguished it in 1:15 am.
However, the consequences of the incident were extremely painful: 3 people died including the homeowner's wife and two children. Two victims were found dead in the bathroom, one victim died on the bed, suspected of smoke inhalation.
The house has 4 people living in it, including the homeowner, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Trung (born in 1980), his wife and two children. At the time of the fire, Mr. Trung was on a business trip and was not at home.
The fire also caused damage to about 16 m2 of the house area. The main fuel was nylon bags, sofas, books and household items.
Lieutenant Colonel Phuong recommends that in daily life, people should safely use electrical appliances, fire sources, and incense offerings. Before leaving the house, they should turn off the power switch and limit maintaining electricity with unnecessary equipment.
At the same time, arrange flammable items neatly and airily, not to block walkways or escape routes, especially for houses in deep alleys and small areas.
