Applying high science and technology to waste treatment processes
Urenco just received the Second-class Labor Medal - right on the occasion of the company's 65th anniversary.
Urenco's predecessor was Hanoi Sanitation Company, established in 1960 under Decision No. 1953/TCCQ of the Hanoi City Administrative Committee. Over 65 years of formation and development, the company currently has nearly 5,000 employees with the main tasks of collecting, transporting and treating domestic, industrial, commercial, medical and construction waste.
According to the report, in 2025, Urenco successfully completed production and business targets in the context of many difficulties due to changes in management mechanisms and organization of environmental sanitation service bidding. The company also arranged forces and vehicles to ensure environmental sanitation work to serve more than 40 important political and cultural events of the Capital and the country.
During the year, the unit continued to promote investment in modern equipment, with a total value of more than 68 billion VND; strengthen mechanization, gradually building a civilized and modern urban environment image.
Along with professional tasks, the work of building the Party and mass organizations in the enterprise is focused on. In 2025, the Company's Party Committee admitted 15 new party members; Trade Unions and Youth Unions implemented many activities to care for life, support workers and participate in city emulation movements.
Not afraid of scorching sun, prolonged rain
Mr. Nguyen Huu Tien - Chairman of the Board of Directors of Urenco Company - said that after 65 years of construction and growth, generations of officials, party members, and workers have built a solid foundation for Urenco with diligence, hard work, regardless of scorching sun or prolonged rain, day or night, summer or winter night, always diligently on every street, every corner of Hanoi.
It is this silent dedication that has contributed to keeping the city clean and vibrant every dawn" - Mr. Nguyen Huu Tien emphasized.
According to Mr. Tien, the Second-class Labor Medal is a noble award recognizing the persistent efforts, silent sacrifices and unremitting dedication of all workers.
Along with that, pioneering in applying science, technology, digital transformation and advanced management solutions, gradually approaching international standards; maintaining the identity of an environmental enterprise for the community, joining hands with the people of the Capital to create a green era.
Chairman of the Board of Directors of Urenco Company said that the unit is ready to be a pioneer with three important pillars: Developing a green economy - development associated with environmental protection and resource optimization; applying the digital economy - applying technology, data and automation to improve operational efficiency; promoting the circular economy - regenerating resources, reducing emissions, building modern, smart and sustainable waste treatment models.
