According to Lao Dong Newspaper reporters, on the days leading up to Lunar New Year, at Hoa Binh City Square, workers are busy transporting and installing mascot symbols to welcome the Year of the Snake 2025.
Speaking to reporters, Mr. Phan Vinh Nguyen - representative of the construction unit said: "The mascot cluster has an average height of 5m, and is equipped with lighting effects at night. To keep up with the construction schedule, the unit mobilized more than 20 workers and machinery to carry out the stages according to the plan set forth by the People's Committee of Hoa Binh province. It is expected to be basically completed on January 21 and opened on January 22, 2025, ensuring technical and aesthetic quality."
“The symbol is inspired by the image of workers at the Hoa Binh Hydropower Plant, whose mission is to continue the glorious history of the previous generation of cadres, soldiers, experts, and workers for the electricity of the Fatherland,” Mr. Nguyen emphasized.
The theme of the mascot symbol welcoming the Spring of At Ty 2025 is "Hoa Binh - Confidently moving forward", shown on the main background of the logo of Hoa Binh province, 6.5m high in the center position, the lower part of the symbol is the image of Hoa Binh hydroelectric dam vividly described with the effect of spraying steam.
According to Nguyen Thanh Nhan (construction worker), the installation of the mascot cluster is in the structural stage, so it requires a lot of meticulousness. The workers are all in a hurry, working overtime until 11pm to meet the schedule.
“I was so tired that I had to take a break and continue working, but thanks to my efforts, many locals and tourists will come to visit and take pictures of the mascot symbol, making them happy and more motivated to work,” Nhan shared.
Speaking to reporters, Ms. Quach Thi Kieu - Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Hoa Binh province said: "The construction of the mascot symbol aims to create a joyful and exciting atmosphere to serve the people to enjoy spring, celebrate the traditional New Year, and at the same time create a highlight in Hoa Binh city, attracting tourists to the province in early spring. Thereby, encouraging and motivating officials and people in the province to continue competing to successfully carry out the tasks of socio-economic development in 2025".
According to the plan, the mascot symbol will be officially displayed from January 22 to February 12, 2025 (ie December 23, year of the Dragon to January 15, year of the Snake).
