At the construction site of the APEC 2027 Conference and Exhibition Center, thousands of people are racing against time to construct. To date, the symbolic architectural block with winding steel arches has been clearly sketched.

Despite the erratic sunny and rainy weather of the pearl island, workers are still diligently clinging to the construction site with a "3 shifts, 4 crews" cycle. Construction teams simultaneously install roofing systems, exterior glass and build internal items. Behind the sweat are the pride of contributing to the national key project serving APEC 2027.
According to the investor (Sun Group), the 13-wave vault roof is about to be completed, the APEC Phu Quoc Conference and Exhibition Center project when inaugurated will provide high-class MICE infrastructure with the largest uncolumned ballroom in the world.

According to the design, the project has a total floor area of up to 153,130 m2 (including the basement), a height of 39.25m, integrating 1 basement with 3 above-ground floors and a technical attic. The roof cover area reaches about 52,000m2, affirming the scale of one of the leading convention centers in the region.
The entire roof system of the Convention Center uses about 12,000 tons of steel structure with 13 main, winding spans. The breakthrough design allows uncolumn spans to exceed up to 81m. The main hall area is optimally designed to receive natural light.
In addition, local identity is also incorporated into the design of the porch surrounding the building with a width of 15m and a length of more than 300m as a transition buffer between the external landscape and the internal conference spaces to address tropical climate issues, and can also be used for art exhibitions.

According to Mr. Hoang Khac Ky - Head of Construction Department, to date, the project has completed 98% of reinforced concrete and more than 95% of the main steel structure, closely following the goal of completing the exterior in the fourth quarter of this year and completing the entire interior in the first quarter of 2027. The APEC Conference and Exhibition Center, when inaugurated, will be ready to meet all strict standards of APEC 2027 High-Level Week as well as global-scale events.
The project management board also said that the project progress is currently maintained at the highest pace due to the companionship of reputable contractors, a team of engineers and workers working productively, overcoming sun and rain, and also financial assurance for contractors is maximally supported by the funding unit and providing guarantee solutions.
