Implementing the Tet peak plan, task forces of Road Traffic Police Team No. 1 (CSGT) - Traffic Police Department, Hanoi City Police have deployed patrols and inspections of cyclo vehicles to ensure traffic safety, maintain civilization and urban order.
Functional forces focus on inspecting certificates, badges, and serial numbers issued to each cyclo operating in the inner city area. According to the regulations of the Hanoi People's Committee, only vehicles belonging to licensed businesses and trade unions are allowed to circulate. Vehicles of unknown origin, self-made vehicles with extended height or vehicles using fake license plates are resolutely temporarily seized and strictly handled.

Our goal is to make cyclos still a cultural beauty, but it must be a disciplined beauty. Each cyclo driver is a tourism ambassador, so complying with traffic laws is not only an obligation but also a responsibility to maintain the image of Hanoi," said the Commander of Road Traffic Police Team No. 1.
In addition to inspection and administrative penalties, the Hanoi Traffic Police Department also coordinates with the Hanoi Department of Tourism to propagate and remind drivers about the importance of preserving the city's image in the eyes of international tourists.
Propaganda activities not only help minimize violations but also improve the quality of cyclo tourism services.
The propaganda content focuses on "3 no's", including: Not going against traffic, entering prohibited roads, especially when the number of cars and motorbikes increases sharply, a small mistake of a cyclo can also cause prolonged congestion; Not stopping and parking to pick up passengers in violation of regulations to avoid obstruction at key traffic junctions;
Do not solicit or pressure tourists to maintain the image of elegant and hospitable Hanoians in the eyes of international friends.

According to Captain Tran Quan Thuy - officer of the Propaganda Team (Hanoi Traffic Police Department), the majority of cyclo drivers are migrant workers or people in the Old Quarter who are in difficult circumstances. The unit organizes propaganda to help them understand that complying with the law is not only to avoid being fined, but also to protect their own livelihoods and lives, as well as passengers.
We completely support the functional forces strengthening inspections. Only by doing so can honest businesses not be affected by disguised cars operating, "overcharging" prices. During Tet, the roads are crowded, if we drive carefully, customers will trust us, we will have a bowl of rice," a cyclo driver shared.
