On August 8, Phu Lam Traffic Police Team, under the Traffic Police Department of Ho Chi Minh City Police (PC08), set up a speed control checkpoint on Le Duc Anh Street (Tan Tao Ward, Ho Chi Minh City). During the 1 hour of setting up the checkpoint, many violators were invited to work, showed images of the vehicle speeding, and at the same time recorded and administratively fined.
Accordingly, at 10:15, the Working Group discovered Ms. P.N.T.M (born in 2006, residing in An Lac Ward, Ho Chi Minh City) driving a motorbike exceeding the prescribed speed limit (56/50 km/h), being filmed by the Traffic Police and invited to work.
For exceeding 5 to under 10 km/h, Ms. M was fined from 400,000 to 600,000 VND and had her driving license (GPLX) on the VNeID application temporarily detained for 7 days.
Nearly 15 minutes later, Phu Lam Traffic Police Team discovered another case of Mr. T.N.T (Binh Thanh Ward, Ho Chi Minh City) driving a motorbike at 64 km/h, exceeding 14 km/h compared to the maximum speed allowed. With an excess of 10 to under 20 km/h, Mr. T was fined from 800,000 to 1,000,000 VND and had his driving license suspended for 7 days.
Mr. T said that because he was in a hurry to transport goods to deliver to customers, he did not pay attention to the speed. "Next time, I have to learn from experience and pay attention to speed, not to pay a late fine," said Mr. T.
At the same time, driver N.V.B (born in 1985, residing in Binh Hung Ward, Ho Chi Minh City) was driving a motorbike from Le Duc Anh Street towards Binh Thuan intersection (Binh Chanh Commune) at a speed of 58/50 km/h. Mr. B's case was also fined from 400,000 to 600,000 VND.
In addition to the speed limit, Mr. B could not present his driver's license and vehicle registration, so the working group temporarily impounded the vehicle. Mr. B will be able to receive his vehicle when he completes all the required documents this afternoon or no later than August 18, 2025.
Mr. B said that he was running towards the construction site and did not pay attention to the speed, so he ran at the speed limit.
A representative of the Phu Lam Traffic Police Team said that they will continue to increase patrols to control speed day and night to detect and strictly handle violations, contributing to reducing traffic accidents in the area.
