On December 15, the Phu Lam Traffic Police Team under the Traffic Police Department (PC08, Ho Chi Minh City Police) coordinated with the Police of Binh Hung Hoa Ward, Binh Tan Ward and security forces at the facility to organize traffic flow at the intersection of Le Duc Anh - Lien Khu 4-5.

This intersection often experiences serious traffic insecurity. Many motorbikes from Road No. 10 often turn left, driving in the wrong direction on Le Duc Anh Street to enter Lien Khu 4-5 Street.
Although the area has been installed with cameras to issue fines and regularly check and fine, because they have to go around more than 4 km if traveling on the correct route, many people still choose to run in the wrong direction for about 80 m, causing disorder and posing a potential risk of accidents.
A week ago, the units hung up a notice board to adjust traffic organization at this intersection. According to the new plan, from December 15, the Le Duc Anh - Lien Khu 4-5 intersection will only be open to vehicles during two peak hours: 6:00-8:00 and 17:00-19:00.

According to the reporter's records, on December 15, the authorities were present at the intersection to regulate, divert and guide people to travel. By 8:00 a.m., the units had deployed mobile barriers and closed the intersection according to the new plan.
According to observations, on the first day of applying the opening time change, the situation of motorbikes running in the wrong direction in this area no longer occurred. The traffic flow is stable, no congestion or traffic conflicts are recorded.
When the intersection is closed, vehicles from Lien Khu 4-5 road towards An Lac roundabout must turn around at Binh Thuan bridge. In the opposite direction, vehicles turned around under the Go May overpass.

Mr. Lam Nhat Huy said: "I find it reasonable to adjust the opening time of the intersection like that, traffic through the area is stable, avoiding congestion, while limiting the situation of motorbikes going in the wrong direction and the risk of accidents at the remaining times".
The change in the opening time of the intersection aims to gradually create a habit for people to comply with regulations, limit congestion and the situation of going in the wrong direction. The authorities will continue to install surveillance cameras at neighboring intersections to promptly assess and adjust traffic flow plans when necessary.
