From August 26, Binh Trieu 1 Bridge temporarily banned cars from circulating to serve the construction of raising the bridge clearance. This has caused the Northeast gateway area of Ho Chi Minh City to often fall into a state of congestion.
According to the reporter's records, until 5:00 p.m. on August 28, the line of vehicles was still lined up, moving slowly every meter from Binh Loi bridge to the intersection of National Highway 13, the section passing through Hiep Binh ward, Thu Duc city before.

Traffic congestion occurred at many points such as Pham Van Dong - National Highway 13 intersection, Binh Loi bridge, Binh Trieu bridge... The line of cars lined up for many kilometers, motorbikes had to squeeze into the crowded lane.
Many people said that traveling through this area in the past few days has become extremely difficult, especially during peak hours of noon and afternoon.

Mr. Nguyen Van Hai (30 years old, technology driver) shared that the traffic jams took him more than 30 minutes to travel.
"I pick up passengers from the old Mien Dong Bus Station to Thu Duc, which usually takes less than 10 minutes. But today it took more than 40 minutes to pass through Pham Van Dong - Binh Trieu Bridge. The bridge prohibits vehicles, the road is not loaded enough, and vehicles cannot move. I have to constantly apologize to customers for not being able to leave on time," Mr. Hai said boredly.

The Traffic Police force of the Rach Chiec Traffic Police Team (HCMC Traffic Police Department) coordinated with local police to be on duty to direct traffic, regulate traffic and guide people on alternative routes. However, due to the large number of vehicles and the long congestion area, handling is still difficult.
Traffic congestion may continue in the coming days, especially during morning and afternoon rush hours. The authorities recommend that people proactively change the roadmap, avoid areas under construction and monitor traffic information to limit affecting travel schedules.
