Dak Nong - Authorities have carried out enforcement and recovered nearly 35 hectares of land in the Quang Tam Industrial - Handicraft Cluster that was illegally encroached upon by people.

On December 10, the functional forces of Tuy Duc district (Dak Nong) carried out enforcement to remedy the consequences in the land sector for 15 cases of illegal occupation of 13.15 hectares of land at the Quang Tam Industrial - Handicraft Cluster.

This is the fourth round of enforcement against encroached land in this industrial cluster. The Quang Tam Industrial - Handicraft Cluster Project has been implemented in Quang Tam commune since 2012 with an area of nearly 35 hectares.

Previously, this land was forestry land, managed by Quang Tan Forestry Company (later renamed Tuy Duc Forestry Company) and Phu Rieng Rubber Company.

Before building the Quang Tam Industrial - Handicraft Cluster, the State reclaimed land, supported compensation for assets on the land and handed over clean land to investors.

After many years of not implementing the project, the enterprise's land management was lax, leading to illegal encroachment by people.

Regarding this project, Dak Nong Provincial People's Committee has reclaimed the land to implement the Quang Tam Industrial - Handicraft Cluster project and handed it over to Tuy Duc District People's Committee for management.

Tuy Duc District People's Committee has issued decisions on administrative sanctions and forced remediation.

During the process of settlement, people repeatedly made petitions and protests. Tuy Duc District People's Committee organized many propaganda and mobilization campaigns and had 3 direct dialogues. As a result, some cases voluntarily dismantled their constructions, assets and returned their land.

The remaining area has not yet returned the encroached land, so the competent authority issued a decision to enforce it. After 4 rounds of enforcement, Tuy Duc district has recovered nearly 35 hectares of encroached land.

Previously, Lao Dong Newspaper published an article "Enterprises neglect projects, clean land in industrial parks turns into... "private land"".

The article reflects that in 2012, the People's Committee of Dak Nong province assigned nearly 35 hectares of clean land to a business to carry out the Quang Tam Industrial Cluster project in Tuy Duc district.

However, the investor later abandoned the project, allowing people to encroach on most of the land, forming spontaneous residential areas. Currently, the locality is taking measures to restore the original status quo.
