On the afternoon of July 4, the Fire and Rescue Team of Area 7, Fire and Rescue Police Department of Khanh Hoa Provincial Police successfully rescued a student trapped in the middle of the Ong River, downstream area near Cau Gay, in An Son village, Ninh Son commune.
According to initial information, at about 5:20 pm on the same day, the unit received a report from Ninh Son Commune Police about a person being isolated on a rock in the middle of the river.
Immediately after receiving the information, the Fire and Rescue Team of Area 7 dispatched 1 specialized vehicle and 7 officers and soldiers to the scene quickly.
Due to rising river water and fast flow, the rescue force deployed a plan to approach and bring the victim ashore safely.
Through verification, the person trapped is N.N.Y. N (born in 2015). Previously, she and three friends, H.K. N (born in 2014), T.A.T (born in 2013) and H.T. D. H (born in 2013), all residing in Song My village, Ninh Son commune, invited each other to swim in the river.
After swimming, the three children swam ashore, while N.N.Y. N was isolated by rising water on a rock in the middle of the stream, unable to escape on her own. People reported to functional agencies to organize rescue.
Functional forces recommend that during the rainy season, water levels in rivers and streams may rise rapidly, with strong currents, posing many risks of drowning accidents.
Parents need to strengthen the management of their children during summer vacation, not allowing children to voluntarily invite each other to swim in rivers and streams, especially in areas with deep water, strong currents or risk of unexpected floods.
