Giant rock falls across the national highway, a family narrowly escapes

    Nghe An - A rock weighing about 70 tons suddenly fell from the mountain onto National Highway 7 through Chieu Luu commune, blocking the road, causing traffic congestion.

    On the morning of August 27, at km184+750 of National Highway 7 (Cu village, Chieu Luu commune, Nghe An), a large rock fell from the mountain, blocking almost the entire road surface. Many vehicles had to stop, the authorities stretched ropes, placed warning signs and regulated traffic from a distance.

    Ms. Nguyen Thi Kieu Oanh (Muong Xen commune) said that after the whole family had just passed a section, the rock fell down behind them. If she had been a little late, her family would have had an accident.

    Mr. Lo Van Thai, Chairman of the People's Committee of Chieu Luu commune, said that the National Highway 7 Road Management Department has received and implemented the handling plan.

    According to the Nghe An Department of Construction, the authorities are urgently moving the rock block to soon clear the route, ensuring safety for people and vehicles.
