On the morning of August 27, speaking with Lao Dong, Mr. Vu Xuan Quy - Chairman of the People's Committee of Trung Chai Commune, Lao Cai Province confirmed the landslide on National Highway 4D to Sa Pa.

"At around 9am this morning, a large landslide occurred, the amount of rock and soil has not been determined. Currently, the units are mobilizing human resources and machinery to carry out the clearing of soil and rocks," added the Chairman of Trung Chai Commune People's Committee.

According to information from the Lao Cai Road Maintenance Management Board, at 9:45 a.m. on August 27, at Km120, National Highway 4D (through Ta Phin commune), a large landslide occurred (water volume of 2,000 m3 of rock and soil) causing a complete traffic jam.

Currently, construction units have mobilized 2 large excavators to the site to deploy the repair of the landslide to restore the roadbed.

It is expected that the repair work will be completed at around 1:00 p.m. this afternoon (8.27).

According to the clip provided by Mr. Hai Nguyen to Lao Dong Newspaper reporters, the small truck with Lao Cai license plate seems to have only been able to accelerate to overcome the landslide in traffic jams.

According to a representative of Lao Cai - Sa Pa BOT Investment Joint Stock Company, the amount of landslides was caused by the toll station that had previously collapsed since early July.

According to the representative, the toll station area has not been cleared yet because the people have not agreed and requested compensation.
