At the workshop "Connecting green credit - Green industrial park" organized by the Banking Times in coordination with the State Bank of Vietnam Region 9 in Da Nang on the afternoon of May 9, Dr. Dang Quang Hai (Biotechnology Center - Department of Science and Technology of Da Nang) said that this locality is promoting green transformation of industrial parks (IPs) according to the ecological IP model (IPs). From there, towards sustainable development and implementing the Net Zero commitment by 2050.
According to Dr. Dang Quang Hai, switching to renewable energy is an inevitable trend, helping to solve environmental pollution problems and respond to climate change. Da Nang aims to convert an industrial park according to the KCNST model by 2025 and have 2-3 national standard industrial parks by 2030.
In particular, Hoa Khanh Industrial Park - the pilot model of the project - has recorded positive results. The application of cleaner production solutions (RECP) and industrial waste (CSCN) has helped 29 businesses save more than 14 trillion VND per year, while significantly reducing wastewater, CO2 emissions and solid waste. Some typical industrial park projects include reclaiming biogases for fuel, installing solar panels and recycling scrap. However, the conversion process still faces many challenges.
Dr. Dang Quang Hai also pointed out the difficulties in the incomplete legal framework, limited capacity of small and medium enterprises, lack of mechanisms to encourage cooperation, limited infrastructure investment and the impact of climate change. To solve these problems, Dr. Dang Quang Hai proposed a number of key solutions such as completing a separate legal framework for tourism networks, building a specific transformation roadmap, raising public awareness, diversifying financial resources, promoting technological innovation, incentives for ecological enterprises and planning new tourism networks from the beginning.
Mr. Hai also emphasized the need for close cooperation between the government and businesses to ensure the success of the transition process. The development of industrial parks not only contributes to environmental protection but also improves the competitiveness of the city, towards the goal of building Da Nang to become an ecological, intelligent and sustainable urban area according to the plan approved by the Prime Minister.
