Da Nang has given all preschool children, students and trainees in the area a day off from school from the afternoon of November 6 to ensure safety before storm No. 13 makes landfall.

On the afternoon of November 5, the Department of Education and Training of Da Nang City issued an official dispatch on letting students stay home from school to ensure safety during storm No. 13 (storm Kalmaegi).

Accordingly, all preschool children, students, and trainees in the city will have a day off on the afternoon of November 6. Vocational training institutions and private universities and colleges, based on the actual situation, proactively decide on the education of students and trainees.

The Department of Education and Training requires units to seriously implement the document on proactively responding to storm No. 13, absolutely not to be negligent or subjective. Schools must prepare plans to ensure the safety of teachers, students, trainees, as well as the school's assets and documents.

Educational institutions are required to promptly notify parents; arrange teachers and staff to manage preschool children and students during the break; for schools that organize boarding, it is necessary to stop receiving food to avoid wasting meals.

Schools with boarding students need to arrange teachers and staff to be on duty to ensure safety in case students cannot return home due to the impact of storms and heavy rain.

After the storm, schools need to urgently repair the damage, clean schools, prevent epidemics, and soon stabilize teaching and learning. The Department noted that it is not to be rigid in organizing teaching and learning before and after storms; at the same time, it cares, supports, and encourages teachers, students, and families facing difficulties due to natural disasters...

On the same day, the Department of Education and Training of Quang Ngai province also announced that students at all educational institutions in the province will be off from school from the afternoon of November 6 until further notice, to proactively respond to storm Kalmaegi.
