On January 21, Da Nang held a launching ceremony for the emulation movement of the whole country joining hands to "Eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses" in 2025 in the city. According to the Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs of Da Nang City, Da Nang has directed localities to review and promptly report that there are still 1,900 households with revolutionary contributions, poor households, and near-poor households living in dilapidated and damaged houses that need to be rebuilt or repaired in 2024 - 2025.
In 2024, based on the Housing Support Project for People with Meritorious Services to the Revolution and the Plan to Implement the National Target Program on Poverty Reduction in 2024, the People's Committees of localities in coordination with the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committees at all levels supported the construction and repair of 903 houses with a total cost of VND 30,665 billion. In 2025, Da Nang will focus on mobilizing resources to support 997 dilapidated houses that are eligible for support for house construction and repair.
Responding to the launching ceremony of the emulation movement "Eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses" nationwide in 2025, many businesses and organizations participated in supporting the launching ceremony with a total amount of 3 billion VND.
To create a vibrant competitive atmosphere and effectively and promptly implement the program "Eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses" in the city, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Da Nang City Party Committee Nguyen Dinh Vinh requested that Party committees at all levels, authorities, the Fatherland Front, organizations, agencies, localities and units focus on strengthening propaganda, dissemination and education to organizations, individuals, businesses, philanthropists and all classes of people about the content, purpose, meaning, objectives, humanity and benevolence of the Program. Let's join hands to support with the spirit of "no one is left behind".
Local authorities at all levels play a decisive role in the success of the Program. It is necessary to diversify resources in a comprehensive, widespread, and inclusive manner, mobilizing all resources from society to the maximum, along with State resources to support the construction of houses for households to ensure the 3 hard criteria: "Hard foundation, hard walls, hard roofs". Strive to basically complete the support for eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses for people in the city by September 2.
The Vietnam Fatherland Front of the city and related sectors shall carry out well the publicity, transparency, timeliness, efficiency, and legality in receiving, managing, allocating, and using sources of support and sponsorship; absolutely not allowing negativity or waste to occur.
