On the morning of June 12, along the Hoang Sa route leading to Son Tra peninsula, about 10 large and small landslides appeared due to prolonged heavy rain.
In particular, in the area near Dong Dinh Museum and Linh Ung Pagoda, soil, rocks, mud and many fallen trees have overflowed onto the road, seriously obstructing traffic.
In some other locations, landslides have caused large rocks, estimated to weigh over 1 ton, rolling down from the positive slope, lying blocking the road, posing a potential risk to the safety of people and vehicles when traveling through this area.
According to the Management Board of Son Tra Peninsula and Da Nang tourist beaches, in the peninsula area, the Yet Kieu - Dinh Ban Co - Bai Bac route has 1 rolling rock point; 2 broken trees blocking the road 600m from Dinh Ban Co towards Bai Bac.
Hoang Sa route from Hoang Sa - Le Van Luong intersection to the front of Intercontinental Resort has 4 landslides and rolling rocks.
Tien Sa route has 2 locations of fallen trees; 2 locations of landslides in the positive slope drainage ditch.
The Management Board of Son Tra Peninsula and Da Nang tourist beaches and related units urgently mobilized human resources and means to clear the scene. The large rocks will be lifted by specialized vehicles to ensure safety.
In the face of complicated storms and floods, the Management Board of Son Tra Peninsula and Da Nang tourist beaches has also announced the temporary suspension of sightseeing activities on Son Tra Peninsula.
The Management Board also proposed that the Department of Tourism notify travel agencies to temporarily stop picking up and dropping off visitors on Son Tra peninsula until the routes are safely repaired.
