Da Nang - Hai Van ward has launched a strong response to the practice of releasing buffalo and cow to roam freely, causing traffic insecurity.

According to reporters on many streets in Hai Van ward, the situation of buffalo and cow traveling freely has decreased significantly after the ward People's Committee issued a plan to handle illegal cattle grazing.

Previously, on the roads along the mountainside and around residential areas, the market often had many buffalo and cow herds, causing traffic insecurity and leaving waste and livestock manure on the road.

According to Mr. Bui Nguyen Hong Hai - Vice Chairman of Hai Van Ward People's Committee, on September 30, the ward had a plan to take action to deal with the situation of illegal cattle grazing in Hai Van ward.

"This campaign aims to rectify the situation that has lasted for many years, when some households have the habit of releasing livestock freely, allowing them to move into residential areas, parks, and even damaged trees and ornamental flowers.

There are times when cattle are in the herd, and at night they rush onto the road, causing motorcyclists to startle, potentially causing traffic accidents, Mr. Hai informed.

According to Mr. Hai, the forces participating in the handling include the Ward Police, the Urban Regulations Department, the Public Service - Public Service Center and residential groups.

Since the beginning of the campaign, the authorities have inspected the roads. Directly meet with farming households to propagate against releasing buffalo, cow, and animal husbandry on roads, residential areas, stream banks, and public areas.

Require people to keep, locked, tied, and carried the blankets in the right place. At the same time, it is to convey propaganda content through a system of loudspeakers, directive documents, and residential group meetings.

The People's Committee of the ward also sent notices to households raising livestock, making a list of households raising livestock; mobilizing signing a commitment not to let grazed livestock. Some cases of recidivism are also listed for handling according to the provisions of Decree 144/2021.

Recorded in Hai Van ward, Mr. Nguyen Van Tin - local resident - said: "Since the ward started out strongly, in the morning when going to work, I have not seen cows standing in the middle of the road. The road is much clearer and more airy.

Meanwhile, some livestock farming households in the ward have also agreed with the re-management of the grazing process, considering this a measure to ensure traffic safety and the living environment after many propaganda sessions.

According to the plan, Hai Van ward will continue to implement propaganda and inspection measures until the end of 2025. Forces are also required to promptly handle cases of allowing livestock to travel in public places, causing risks of accidents or affecting environmental sanitation.

Hai Van Ward People's Committee affirmed that it will both mobilize and resolutely handle to end the situation of grazing cattle, towards building a civilized and safe living environment for people.
