The body discovered on the balcony of Quang Ngai General Hospital is that of a patient being treated at this hospital.

On September 25, the authorities completed the autopsy and handed over the body of the man on the balcony of Quang Ngai General Hospital to his family for burial. Upon verification, the deceased was Mr. N.V.H. (54 years old), residing in Chau O town, Binh Son district, Quang Ngai.

Accordingly, on September 16, 2024, Mr. H. was taken by his family to Quang Ngai General Hospital for treatment at the Cardiology Department. At around 2:00 a.m. on September 18, while his family was sleeping, Mr. H. left the hospital.

When Mr. H. was discovered missing, his family searched the hospital grounds but could not find him, so they reported the incident to Quang Ngai General Hospital. The hospital sent out notices to departments and offices and sent search forces. Information about the search for patient H. was also posted on the hospital's website.

Mr. H. was determined to have signs of dementia.

Previously, Lao Dong Newspaper reported that on the afternoon of September 23, while watering the plants in front of the main lobby of Quang Ngai General Hospital, the plant caretaker smelled an unpleasant odor and checked. After that, they discovered a body lying in the balcony crack of the hospital lobby.

The hospital immediately reported to the Quang Ngai Provincial Police. Authorities immediately arrived, sealed off the area, examined the body and investigated the cause of death.

According to information, the autopsy results showed that Mr. H. had multiple fractures; according to the medical record, he had thrombocytopenia. The area where the body was found was a concrete crack on the balcony, hidden by the branches and leaves of a tree. Because it was hidden, it was difficult to detect from the Intensive Care Unit to the balcony.
