On November 21, the Dak Lak Provincial People's Committee issued a plan to support emergency necessities for people affected by floods in the province.
Accordingly, the scope of support includes all communes and wards in the eastern part of the province and some western communes affected by floods.
In particular, the focus is on 40 communes and wards that have just been declared by the Provincial People's Committee as emergency situations regarding natural disasters. In addition, the plan focuses on supporting more than 20,000 households directly affected, especially in low-lying areas, along rivers and areas at high risk of landslides.

The plan to identify priority relief areas includes the following.
Group 1: 40 communes and wards have been declared a natural disaster emergency.
Group 2: neighboring communes and wards, riverside areas, low-lying areas, at risk of flooding, landslides, flash floods; places with many poor, near-poor households and vulnerable groups need to be supported promptly to ensure social security.

The plan also clearly states the plan to organize the issuance of rice at each stage.
Emergency period (0 - 48 hours): Organize forces and means to immediately access deeply flooded areas, isolated by canoes, motor boats and mobile vehicles, prioritizing level 1 areas. Immediately provide instant noodles, dry food, drinking water, essential medicine, milk and basic necessities to the people.
Phase 48 - 72 hours: Organize community kitchens at evacuation points and population density points; provide hot rice and cooked food to ensure food safety; allocate rice, dry food and necessities to each household group.
After 72 hours: Support for roofing panels and house repair materials for households with blown-off roofs, collapsed and severely damaged. Coordinate with local authorities and shock forces to support house cleaning, environmental sanitation...
According to statistics, historic floods that have lasted for many days in Dak Lak province have caused serious damage to people and property. The total initial damage is estimated at more than VND 4,500 billion.
Of which, more than 200,000 houses were flooded; more than 18,000 households had to be relocated; 358 schools and 10 health stations were flooded and damaged; more than 63,000 hectares of short-term crops and more than 100,000 hectares of perennial crops were damaged; more than 3.5 million livestock and poultry died or were swept away...
