On November 4, Soc Trang Provincial Police held a conference to deploy a plan to coordinate to ensure security and order for the 6th Ooc Om Boc Festival - Ngo Boat Race in Soc Trang, Mekong Delta region and the 1st Soc Trang Culture, Sports and Tourism Week in 2024.
The festival will take place from November 9 to 15 in Soc Trang city with cultural, sports, promotional and tourism promotion activities, Ngo boat racing, Moon worship ceremony, trade promotion fair, street food... This is the largest festival of the province in 2024, aiming to preserve and promote the traditional cultural values of the Khmer people in the South.
Speaking at the conference, Colonel Bui Quoc Khanh - Director of Soc Trang Provincial Police - said that in the coming time, the police of all units and localities will focus on deploying synchronous professional measures, grasp the situation, promptly detect and prevent sabotage plots of hostile forces, bad elements, and all types of criminals. Strengthen patrolling, controlling, closing off areas, ensuring traffic safety and order, preventing fires and explosions, determined to ensure absolute safety before, during and after the festival.
