From mountainous areas to OCOP products
Located in the North of Lam Dong province, Dam Rong is a mountainous district with diverse terrain and mountains. The climate here is cool all year round and the source of water is pure.
These ideal natural conditions have created a land rich in potential for agricultural development and typical products.
Currently, Dam Rong district is making its mark on the OCOP map with 18 products recognized as meeting 3-star standards. The OCOP products here all have the strong identity of the Central Highlands mountains and forests.
Notable among them are highland tea with its refreshing sweetness, fragrant Dam Rong durian or fatty macadamia nuts... Each product has its own unique flavor of the Dam Rong land.
Traditional handicraft products such as Tay village rice paper, ham, coffee and dried bamboo shoots are also gradually establishing their brands in the market.
In particular, we cannot fail to mention agarwood tea, a unique product, considered the "black gold" of this land.
The warm aroma and sweet taste of agarwood tea not only brings relaxation but also has many good effects on health.
According to Mr. Hoang Duy Thanh - representative of Quang Nam Aquilaria Crataegus Joint Stock Company, "Dam Rong land with cool climate, high terrain, and rich natural forest ecosystem is the ideal place to grow Aquilaria Crataegus, the main raw material for producing agarwood tea".
When he first started the project, Mr. Thanh encountered many difficulties in terms of technology and resources. However, with a strong belief in the potential of this land, he has continuously researched and applied advanced production technology.
Besides, Mr. Thanh also takes advantage of favorable natural conditions to bring quality agarwood tea products to the market.
According to Mr. Thanh, the Aquilaria tree is intercropped in natural forests, both protecting the ecological environment and providing high-quality raw materials.
Thanks to the combination of nature and advanced production technology, agarwood tea from Dam Rong has a unique flavor, outstanding medicinal properties, and high health value, and is positively received by the market.
Mr. Thanh affirmed: "It is the pure source of water, the special climate and the environmentally friendly production method that make the difference between Dam Rong's agarwood tea products and those of other regions."

Developing and preserving indigenous cultural values
According to the People's Committee of Dam Rong district, to support the strong development of OCOP products, the local government has accompanied businesses and people in improving production processes, investing in machinery and upgrading packaging designs.
Capital support and technical training programs are also implemented, thereby helping OCOP entities improve product quality and competitiveness in the market.
Not stopping at economic goals, Dam Rong also focuses on preserving indigenous cultural values associated with each product.
OCOP products not only represent quality, but also bear the cultural imprint of the Central Highlands people. This is an important part in building local brands, developing new rural areas and promoting community tourism.
The leader of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of Dam Rong district said: “In the coming time, the district aims to develop 3-5 new OCOP products. In particular, focusing on the fields of medicinal herbs, processed foods and handicraft products.
The district government is also actively encouraging the establishment of agricultural cooperatives and cooperative groups. This will create a sustainable chain from production to consumption, increasing people's income.
With a sustainable development orientation, Dam Rong district has proven its potential as a bright spot for high-quality OCOP products.
Continuous efforts in innovating production processes, improving quality and preserving culture have helped local products gradually conquer domestic and foreign markets.
