Bringing the flavor of OCOP products in Di Linh plateau far and wide

PHẠM QUANG |

Lam Dong – In recent years, Di Linh district has affirmed its position as one of the key agricultural areas with many high-quality OCOP products.

Sweetness on the Plateau

Di Linh District is located in the heart of Lam Dong plateau. This place is not only famous for its temperate climate and rich nature, but also known for its typical agricultural products, imbued with the homeland's character, especially Robusta coffee.

Di Linh's Robusta coffee has a rich, delicious flavor and has become the pride of this land.

The coffee beans here are carefully tended, imbued with the essence of fertile soil, along with the morning dew on the sunny plateau.

Di Linh is not only the land of coffee, but also the convergence of agricultural products with high economic value such as tea, ginseng, macadamia, honey. These products have contributed significantly to the development of the local agricultural sector.

One of the typical examples of success with coffee trees in the locality is the case of Mr. Trinh Tan Vinh, representative of Thuan Trinh Cafe Company Limited (Dinh Lac commune, Di Linh district).

From scratch, Mr. Vinh has successfully built a circular ecological agricultural model right in his coffee garden. With this farming model, Mr. Vinh has created delicious coffee beans with a rich, distinctive flavor.

Mr. Vinh said: "I focus on creating a sustainable farming environment, helping to improve soil quality, increase productivity and ensure the quality of coffee trees. This not only helps coffee gardens grow naturally but also minimizes dependence on chemical fertilizers or pesticides."

“Currently, my coffee product is rated as a 3-star OCOP product. In the near future, I will expand the scale, upgrade the OCOP product and continuously develop it. My goal is to bring the best quality coffee beans and increase the value of production and business,” Mr. Vinh added.

Focus on developing OCOP products

Taking advantage of the rich climate and soil, Di Linh district has expanded its raw material areas to focus on developing agricultural products that meet OCOP standards.

In 2023 alone, Di Linh district will have 12 new products certified as OCOP. Thereby, bringing the total number of products certified as OCOP to 36.

These products not only help enhance brand value but also create conditions for farmers to have a more stable income.

Quality OCOP products of Di Linh district include specialty coffee, pure wild honey, premium oolong tea... These products have been widely introduced at agricultural fairs and on e-commerce platforms.

Mr. Vu Hong Long - Head of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of Di Linh district - shared: "Recently, the district's functional agencies have focused on supporting businesses and farmers to develop products that meet OCOP certification.

Most prominent are capital support programs for business entities to invest in equipment to improve quality and upgrade products.

Authorities also support businesses to improve product packaging designs, creating competitiveness in the market while still ensuring environmental friendliness."

According to Mr. Long, with the right orientations and sustainable development strategies, Di Linh district is gradually affirming its position in agricultural development associated with the OCOP brand. From there, it promises to enhance the value of agricultural products and strongly develop local tourism in the vision of the next 5 to 10 years.

In particular, the locality will focus on developing the agricultural sector according to the general market trend. The district does not encourage increasing the area of cultivation but still encourages farmers and businesses to produce circular, organic products and deeply process environmentally friendly products.
