At nearly noon on September 28, 8 crew members who had an accident while avoiding storm No. 10 in the Cua Viet sea area (Quang Tri) were brought safely to shore. One person is clinging to a buoy number 0, the other two are missing and are being searched for.

The identities of the 8 crew members who were rescued include: Mai Thanh Tam (born in 1999, residing in An Giang), Nguyen Ngoc Phong (born in 1998, residing in the former Binh Phuoc, now Dong Nai province) and Le Duy Thang (born in 1984), Le Van Banh (born in 1992), Nguyen Thanh Phong (born in 1994) Nguyen Minh Truong (born in 1993), Lang Quoc Hai (born in 1974) and Ha Minh Tan (born in 1994), all residing in the former Kien Giang, now An Giang province.

Earlier, on the same morning, 2 fishing boats from Ho Chi Minh City and 11 crew members moved to shore to avoid storm No. 10, but 1 boat ran aground and 1 boat sank right at the Cua Viet channel gate, Quang Tri province.

The Quang Tri Border Guard, Squadron 202 of the Coast Guard, Quang Tri Provincial Police and many other forces were mobilized to deploy rescue measures.
