The Thuc Luyen Reservoir Project, Phu Tho Province was approved by the Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development (now the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment) under Decision No. 5205/QD-BNN-XD dated December 30, 2022.
This project belongs to Group B, with a total investment of 570 billion VND. The Phu Tho Provincial Construction Investment Project Management Board is the unit assigned as the Project Investor.
According to the investigation of Lao Dong Newspaper reporters, the Phu Tho Provincial Construction Investment Project Management Board has just announced the bidding invitation for "package 20/2025/XL. Construction of clusters of units, water supply systems and auxiliary works" of the project.
The above construction package was widely bid online, priced at more than 415 billion VND from the state budget managed by the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment.
In the coming time, after the decision to approve the contractor selection results, the construction unit will deploy the construction of Thuc Luyen reservoir in Thuc Luyen commune, the old Thanh Son district (now Thanh Son commune, Phu Tho province).

The investment goal of this project is to effectively exploit the surface water of the Stream to provide agricultural irrigation water; create a source of domestic and industrial water supply; contribute to minimizing damage caused by natural disasters, helping to stabilize people's lives and improve the ecological environment of the project area.
The project's task is to provide irrigation water for 1,685 hectares of cultivated land, of which: Directly irrigation of 1,420 hectares in Thanh Son district, Yen Lap district (old), creating irrigation water for 265 hectares in Tam Nong district (old); creating a source of domestic water for 30,000 people; creating a water supply for 46 hectares of Thuc Luyen industrial cluster.

Regarding the scope of site clearance, including reservoir beds, construction clusters, canal systems, construction roads, forestry roads, management areas, auxiliary areas, material mines, etc., the total area is about 110.87 hectares (of which 74.01 hectares are used long-term and 36.86 hectares are temporarily used for construction).
Area of each type of land expected to be recovered: Rice land 14.79 ha (long-term use 4.25 ha); land for growing annual and perennial crops and other land 35.39 ha (long-term use 12.48 ha); forestry land 60.69 ha (long-term use 57.28 ha), including 40.09 ha of production forest land (forest).
It is expected that the number of affected households will be 315 households, no households will have to relocate; the estimated compensation, support and resettlement cost is VND54.013 billion.
