    Khi hoan thanh, ho chua nuoc Canh Tang se dieu tiet, cap nuoc tuoi cho 6.460ha dat canh tac cua 2 huyen Lac Son, Yen Thuy (tinh Hoa Binh cu) nay la xa Lac Son, xa Yen Thuy, tinh Phu Tho; tao nguon cap nuoc bo sung cho cac cong trinh o ha luu trong mua kho (trong do tuoi cho 2.500ha o huyen Thach Thanh, tinh Thanh Hoa).     When completed, Canh Tang reservoir will regulate and provide irrigation water for 6,460 hectares of cultivated land of Lac Son and Yen Thuy districts (old Hoa Binh province) now Lac Son commune, Yen Thuy commune, Phu Tho province; creating additional water supply for downstream works in the dry season (including irrigation for 2,500 hectares in Thach Thanh district, Thanh Hoa province).
