On October 26, information from the Dong Nai Provincial People's Committee said that it has proposed to implement provincial road 769E connecting Long Thanh airport to Phan Thiet - Dau Giay expressway, forming a new connecting route to the northern area of Long Thanh airport.
Currently, Dong Nai province is carrying out procedures to invest in the construction of provincial road 769E, completing the investment proposal report, and is submitting it for appraisal to submit to the Provincial People's Council for approval at the end of 2024 session.
Provincial road 769E passes through Long Thanh and Cam My districts, starting at the border with Long Thanh airport, ending at provincial road 770B, with a total length of about 8km.
The project is divided into 2 phases for investment implementation.
Of which, section 1 from Long Thanh airport boundary to Thu Thiem - Long Thanh railway depot, has a cross-section width of 115m; section 2 from Thu Thiem - Long Thanh railway depot to provincial road 770B, has a cross-section width of 95m.
Phase 1 will invest in building 2 parallel roads on both sides, each 15m wide. Along with that, invest in building 4 reinforced concrete bridges on the route including Suoi Duc, Quan Y 1, Quan Y 2 and Suoi Sau bridges.
The total investment for phase 1 of the project is more than 1,400 billion VND, of which site clearance costs are nearly 600 billion VND.
The project will be implemented in the period from 2024-2029.
According to the Department of Transport of Dong Nai province, the investment in provincial road 769E increases traffic capacity between the key economic region of the South and the northern provinces and provinces in the Central Highlands region.
In particular, along with routes T1-T2, provincial route 769E will connect directly to Long Thanh airport to meet traffic and transportation needs.
Currently, the traffic routes connecting Long Thanh airport are being deployed, including Bien Hoa - Vung Tau, Ben Luc - Long Thanh expressways and Ho Chi Minh City Ring Road 3. At the same time, it is proposed to expand the Ho Chi Minh City - Long Thanh - Dau Giay expressway.
In the near future, Dong Nai will also implement new construction projects, upgrade and expand provincial roads 25B, 25C, 769, 773, 770B and the inter-port road of Nhon Trach district. However, the traffic routes connecting Long Thanh airport are mostly concentrated in the southern area of Long Thanh airport.
