On October 15, the People's Committee of Khanh Hoa province announced that it had issued a document responding to the opinions and recommendations of voters of Khanh Hoa province after the 9th Session of the 15th National Assembly.
Khanh Hoa province has responded to voters' interest in investing in a national grid power system to serve domestic electricity to people in the Bich Dam Island area.
According to the People's Committee of Khanh Hoa province, on July 28, 2025, Khanh Hoa Power Company (KHoPC) and Vinpearl Joint Stock Company conducted a survey on the actual supply of electricity in the Bich Dam island area.
The survey results show that connecting electricity from the national grid to the island is facing many obstacles due to existing technical conditions and infrastructure.
Specifically, to connect to the national power system, it is necessary to connect to the 22kV medium voltage grid owned by Vinpearl.
However, this power grid is overloaded, no longer able to provide additional power to the island area.
In addition, the preliminary technical plan shows that the new 22kV medium voltage underground cable will be about 15km long, passing through mountainous terrain and areas with complex geology, lacking construction sites, causing difficulties for the investment process.
Faced with this reality, Khanh Hoa Power Company said it will continue to coordinate with relevant departments, branches and Vinpearl to survey, collect opinions, and perfect technical plans to gradually deploy stable power supply for the people of Bich Dam island.
While waiting for investment in the national grid system, KHoPC has proposed that the Provincial People's Committee direct the implementation of temporary solutions.
Accordingly, 2 500kVA generators will be invested in, operating alternately, ensuring power supply for 12 hours a day (from 7am to 1pm and from 5pm to 11pm) to serve the daily needs of people in the Bich Dam island area.
The early investment in a stable, long-term power system is expected to help improve living conditions, develop tourism and ensure security for people on this remote island.
