The project to renovate and upgrade National Highway 6, Ha Dong - Xuan Mai section is a key traffic project of the Capital, started in December 2022 with a total investment of about 9,600 billion VND. The project plays an important role in completing the radial traffic axis in the Southwest of Hanoi.
To ensure progress, functional units are accelerating site clearance work, striving to complete the demolition of the project in July 2026 to hand over the clean site to the contractor to deploy construction.
Recorded by reporters on National Highway 6, the section passing through Yen Nghia ward and Chuong My commune, the dismantling of works within the project scope is being urgently implemented.
However, at many construction locations, the demolition area has not been fully fenced off, but only some construction site warning signs have been placed. Meanwhile, machinery and workers are operating close to the road edge, dust is spreading and wastewater from the construction site spills onto the road surface, combined with the high density of vehicles, making people's travel difficult.
Mr. Nguyen Duc Hai (resident in Chuong My) said that site clearance to expand National Highway 6 is necessary to reduce congestion and meet people's travel needs. However, construction units need to strengthen safety measures such as stretching warning ropes, erecting barriers and regularly spraying water to limit dust generation.
Talking to a reporter of Lao Dong Newspaper about this issue, a representative of Yen Nghia Ward Police said that in the process of organizing the demolition, the locality has arranged nearly 20 officers and soldiers and militia forces to coordinate to ensure security and order and regulate traffic.
According to a representative of Yen Nghia Ward Police, construction units will deploy warning signs at the construction site to the extent of demolition. At the same time, functional forces will continue to remind contractors to strengthen warning ropes, erect barriers and spray water to prevent dust to ensure safety for people traveling through the area.
