According to the investor, the Management Board of Investment and Construction of Traffic Works of Binh Thuan Province, the Phan Thiet Airport access road project (phase 2) has been opened to traffic. This is the road connecting Phan Thiet International Airport (Phan Thiet Airport) with the Vo Nguyen Giap coastal road (leading to Mui Ne - Bau Trang).
The project is 3.63km long, with a 36m wide roadbed, of which the road surface is 13.5m wide and the sidewalks on each side are 5m wide. The project also includes a drainage system, trees, lighting, and fire-fighting water supply.
The entire route has been completed with asphalt, painted road markings, lighting system, trees, drainage; traffic lights have been installed.
Many cars and motorbikes were circulating smoothly on the road.
On the left side of the sidewalk, there are some sections where the paving has not been completed, so some workers are still working on paving the sidewalk. However, this does not affect the traffic flow.
The project, with a total investment of about 117.9 billion VND, started construction at the end of January 2024 and was completed on schedule at the end of December 2024.
Phan Thiet Airport is located in Thien Nghiep Commune, Phan Thiet City, Binh Thuan Province with a total area of 543 hectares, approved by the Prime Minister in 2009. This is a dual-use airport serving both military and civilian purposes. The project started in January 2015.
Up to now, the military items have been completed and the Air Defense - Air Force is operating military flights. As for the civil items, due to adjustments from the airport level and project scale, they are currently carrying out procedures according to regulations.
