On January 10, the People's Committee of Binh Dinh province said that the locality has just continued to request the Ministry of Transport to repair and restore the damaged road due to the construction of the North-South expressway project through this province.
In the past, Binh Dinh province has repeatedly requested the investor (PMU 2, PMU 85) to repair and restore local roads damaged by the construction of the expressway project. However, the investor has not implemented the project seriously, leading to traffic safety issues, causing frustration among the people.
According to the Department of Transport of Binh Dinh province, there are currently 4 provincial roads (DT629, 630, 636, 638) that are seriously damaged, with a total length of more than 105km. The road system in the localities also recorded 56 seriously damaged routes, with a total length of more than 66km.
Especially route DT629, section Km1+00 - Km3+170, causes many difficulties in the travel of vehicles and people.
To ensure traffic safety, especially during the Lunar New Year 2025, Binh Dinh province requested the Ministry of Transport to request investors and construction units to urgently fix and repair damaged local routes before January 15, 2025.
At the same time, consider and handle responsibilities according to regulations for units, organizations and individuals who are slow to fix and repair damaged routes serving the project construction, causing prolonged traffic safety loss.
Direct the investor to assign competent officials to coordinate with the Provincial Traffic Safety Committee, relevant units and localities to inspect, propose plans and implement repairs and restore damaged local roads to their original state.
Properly perform the role and responsibility of the investor, act as a coordinating agency with departments, branches and localities to resolve existing problems and obstacles arising during the project construction process, and must not shirk or pass responsibility to the construction units, causing delays and congestion in handling.
Urgently work with the Department of Transport and related units and localities to resolve difficulties and problems during project implementation.
Previously, Binh Dinh province requested the Ministry of Transport to direct investors to immediately repair and restore local roads affected during the transportation of construction materials for the North-South Expressway project, the section passing through the province.
Timely fix and repair potholes, subsidence, flooding, damage... that do not ensure traffic safety.
