Total investment of 19 billion VND
Recently, Mr. Lo Van Cuong - Vice Chairman of Dien Bien Provincial People's Committee issued Decision No. 2169 on " Approving the economic - technical report on investment in the construction of the Na Sang 1 Irrigation works, Nu Ngam commune".
Accordingly, the total investment for the project "Na Sang 1 Irrigation Village, Nu Ngam Commune" is 19 billion VND, from the capital of the National Target Programs, local budgets and other legal capital sources.
The project belongs to the Agricultural and Rural Development Project, Group C, level III, invested by the Project Management and Land Fund Development Board of Region 2. It is expected to be implemented and completed in the 2025-2027 period.
Also according to the decision, the construction route follows the left bank of Nam Ngam stream at the Sen Lat irrigation head dam, leading through rice fields and hills, cutting through National Highway 12, streams leading to irrigation areas in Na Sang 1, Na Sang 2 villages (Nua Ngam commune).
Solving the problem of water shortage, increasing production crops
According to the decision, the project's goal is to ensure irrigation water supply for 21.3 hectares of double-crop rice fields and create a source for 42.5 hectares of rice fields.
In particular, the project will help completely overcome the shortage of agricultural water, creating conditions for people to increase the rice cultivation area from one crop to two crops.

The 19 billion VND project includes many solid construction items with a minimum design life of 15 years.
Specifically, the investment scale includes: focal points; canal lines and works on canals; pipelines and works on pipelines.
Construct a water tunnel using reinforced concrete at the head dam location.
Build a new canal and works on the canal with a total length of more than 4.3 km. The canal is divided into an opening canal and a approach canal, with a reinforced concrete structure. On the canal, there will be auxiliary works such as protective embankment walls, bridges, spillways and culverts across the road.
The pipeline system is built nearly 1km long, combining HDPE pipes and steel pipes.
The People's Committee of Dien Bien province also assigned the investor to be responsible for fully absorbing the opinions of the Department of Agriculture and Environment in the announcement of appraisal results No. 3721 dated September 18, 2025; organize the implementation of the next steps of the project to ensure compliance with the provisions of law.
