The first outbreak broke out in the farming household of Mr. Q.V.V, residing in Noong Luong village. After being detected on May 8, the veterinary agency took samples and tested positive for the A/H5N1 flu virus on May 14. The entire flock of ducks, including 1,500 ducks with a total weight of 1,896 kg, had to be destroyed.
By May 17, the second outbreak was continued to be detected at the household of Mr. D. V. T, residing in Viet Yen village. The test results on May 22 were positive for A/H5N1 flu. Functional agencies have organized the destruction of a flock of 3,500 chickens and ducks, with a total weight of 2,612 kg.
In order to control the epidemic, local authorities have temporarily suspended the purchase, sale, transportation, and slaughter of poultry and poultry products in the epidemic area (Noong Luong village, Viet Yen village). Functional forces also carried out disinfection around the two households with the epidemic.
